Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology that allows devices to exchange data over short distances. It is widely used to connect peripheral devices such as wireless headphones, keyboards, mice, and smartwatches to computers, smartphones, and tablets.
Bluetooth operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency and has a range of about 10 meters (although some newer versions can operate at longer distances). Bluetooth devices form small personal area networks (PANs) in which one device acts as a master and the others as slaves.
While Bluetooth is considered relatively secure due to encryption and the need for device pairing, hackers can still exploit vulnerabilities to intercept data or spread malware. Therefore, users are advised to turn on Bluetooth only when needed, pair devices in secure locations, and regularly update firmware to address known security issues.
